Windowpane Scrap Square

I couldn't sleep and am currently sick of the pattern stitch on a wrap I am working on for a christmas gift. It's going to be beautiful, but right now I've reached that point where I feel like I am never going to finish it. So I dipped into my scrap yarn and decided to work up something I could finish. I have a ton of this yarn, so I will probably be showing a lot of my squares in these colors for a while.

Materials:

J hook and small amounts ww yarn

Finished size: approximately 6"

With color A, ch 5, join with slip st to form a ring.

RND1: Ch 3, (counts as first dc), 2 dc in ring; (ch 2, 3 dc in ring) 3 times, ch 2, join with a slip st to top of ch 3. Finish off.

RND2: Join color B with a dc in first dc after any ch-2 sp; ch 1, skip next dc, dc in next dc; *(3dc, ch 2, 3dc) in next ch 2 sp, dc in next dc, ch 1, skip next dc, dc in next dc, Repeat from * around, join with slip st to first dc, finish off.

RND3: Join color A with dc in any ch-2 sp, 2 dc, ch 2, 3 dc in same sp; *hdc in next 4 dc, dc in ch-1 sp, hdc in next 4 dc** (3 dc, ch2, 3 dc) in next ch-2 sp, Repeat from * around, ending at **, join with slip st to first dc, finish off.

RND4: Join color B with dc in any ch-2 sp, ch 2, dc in same sp; * dc in next 3 dc, ch 3, skip next 4 hdc, dc in next dc, ch 3, skip next 4 hdc, dc in next 3 dc,** (dc, ch 2, dc) in next ch-2 sp, Repeat from * around, ending at **, join with a slip st to first dc.

RND5: Ch 1, sc in same st, (sc, ch 2, sc) in next ch-2 sp, *sc in next 4 dc, 3 sc in next ch-3 sp, sc in next dc, 3 sc in next ch-3 sp, sc in next 4 dc** (sc, ch 2, sc) in next ch-2 sp, Repeat from * around, ending at **, join with slip st to first sc, finish off. Weave in ends.

Simple Shells & Lace Scarf

A simple and pretty pattern for a quick gift.

I used Vanna's Choice, I believe the color is fern.

Materials, WW yarn, I hook.

Ch 29, loosely.

Row 1: (wrong side) dc in 5th ch from hook, *skip next 2 chs, (dc, ch 1, dc) in next ch; repeat from * across.

Row 2: Ch 3, turn; 2 dc in first ch-1 sp, 3 dc in each ch-1 sp across. 27 dc

Row 3: Ch 1, turn; sc in forst 2 dc, * ch 3, skip next 2 dc, sc in next dc; repeat from * across to last st, sc in top of turning ch. 8 ch 3 sps

Row 4: Ch 1, turn; sc in first sc, ch 3, (sc in next ch-3 sp, ch 3)across, skip next sc, s in last sc. 9 ch-3 sps

Row 5: Ch 4, turn; dc in first ch-3 sp, (dc, ch 1, dc) in eah ch-3 sp across.

Repeat Rows 2-5 31 times. Finish off, darn in ends.

Fringe: (I like long fringe when I use it)

Cut 10, 14" strands of yarn per section, place 9 pieces of fringe evenly along ends of scarf.

Jack Frost Snowflake

Okay, it has been FOREVER, since I posted, but it has been a truly crazy few months around here.
On October 8th, we had to put down our yellow lab, Jack Frost XX, affectionately known as Frosty. He had been battling diabetes, which is not kind to dogs, for a long time. We adopted him when he neded a home and we had no idea that he would complete our little family of displaced pets so well. So, in honor of Frosty, here is my first snowflake pattern.

I took this photo before pinning this snowflake. I'll take a new one after I have.

I used size 10 cotton thread and a size 6 steel hook, use whatever works for you as I have a tight stitch.

Ch 4, join with a slip st to form a ring.

RND1: Ch 1, sc in ring, (ch 10 sc in ring) 5 times, ch 5, dtr in first sc to form last ch-10 loop. 6 loops

RND2: Ch 1, (sc ch 4, sc) in last loop made, * ch 7, (sc ch 4, sc) in next loop; repeat from * around, ch 4, dc in first sc to form last ch-7 loop.

RND3: Ch 1, sc in last ch-7 sp made, ch 15, skip next ch-4 sp. * sc in next ch-7 sp, ch 15, skip next ch-4 sp; repeat from * around, join with slip st to first sc.

RND4: Ch1, *7 sc, (ch5, slip st in 5th ch from hook) 3 times, 7 sc in next ch-15 sp, slip st in next sc; repeat from * around, join with slip st to first sc. Finish off.

Wagon Wheel Granny

Finsihed Size: Approximately 6"

Materials: Hook size I, worsted weight yarn

Note: I have a tight stitch so you may want touse a smaller hook size to obtain this gauge.

Ch 4, join with sl st to form a ring.

Rnd 1: Ch 2, (counts as first dc), 11 dc in ring. Join with sl st. (12 dc)

Rnd 2: Ch 2, dc between next 2 dc, ch 1 around. Join with sl st. (12 dc)

Rnd 3: Sl st into first dc and into ch 1 space. Ch 2, 2 dc in same space, 3 dc in each ch 1 space around, join with sl st to first dc. (36 dc)

Rnd 4: Ch 2, 2dc in same space, ch 1, 3 dc between next two 3dc clusters, *ch 1, 3 dc ch 2 3dc in next space. Ch 1, 3 dc in next space twice. Repeat from * around, ch 1 join with a sl st.

Rnd 5: Sl st over to next ch 1 space. Ch 2, 2 dc in same space, ch 1, 3 dc in next ch 1 space ch 1, 3 dc ch 1 3 dc in next ch 2 space. *Ch 1, 3 dc in next ch 1 space, 3 times. Ch 1, 3 dc ch 2 3 dc in next ch 2 space, repeat from * once more, ch 1, 3 dc in last ch 1 space, ch 1 join with sl st to first dc, finish off.

I had trouble writing the 4th round clearly, (probably due to lack of sleep) and welcome any suggestions for making it easier to follow.
